Making your own Vanilla Glaze for your desserts is very easy and literally only takes a few minutes from start to finish. You will end up with just enough to glaze 2 Coffee Cakes in loaf pans. I have been making this for years and it has never failed me yet. It has a sweet vanilla buttery taste that is good on many variations of pound cakes / coffee cakes. You can even double the recipe to have enough to frost a cake :)
Homemade Vanilla Glaze ~ Quick and Easy!
1 Cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp Butter or Coconut Oil
1 Tbsp 100% Pure Vanilla Extract
Measure ingredients into a small saucepan, melt over LOW heat and mix together. This will take just a few minutes.
Remove from heat and immediately drizzle the topping onto your pound cake / coffee cake. It will harden as it cools.
Chocolate Version: Add 2 Tbsp of baking cocoa and increase the milk to 2 Tsp.
Lemon Glaze: add 1 Tsp of lemon extract, 100% pure lemon juice or fresh lemon zest.
