Homemade Baby Powder ~ Old time recipe that works on Rashes

Making your own Baby powder is not only easy and costs you way less money - when you realize what is actually in your store bought versions it has now become necessary! 

You only need 2 ingredients…less than 5 minutes…and you have your own customized powder for personal use or Baby shower & gift-giving! You can use any essential oil of your choice or leave it unscented. This recipe will give you 16 oz. of finished product for less than $ 1.00! Now compare that cost & ingredients in your store bought, which usually has talcum powder in it. READ HERE why you should not EVER use this on you or your babies!!

 It makes you wonder WHY anyone would ever put this stuff in a product and then call it "Baby Powder"!! Homemade Baby Powder ~ Old time recipe that works on Rashes

  • 2 cups Arrowroot Powder (or Cornstarch as a 2nd choice)
  • 3 drops Lavender essential oil of choice 
  • Repurposed Container for Storage (Shaker Container, Mason jar or plastic container with a powder dusting pad)
The Arrowroot powder is naturally very absorbent (important in the diaper area), used as a nutritional food supplement for children and the lavender essential oil is Antiviral, Antibacterial and calming.


Mix the ingredients together with a whisk or dough cutter and put into a re-purposed container. Use a large funnel to transfer into you jar.
