Scented Bath Salts - Homemade!

Scented Bath Salts ~ All Natural
Epsom salt is one of those old time cure all remedy ingredients that just keeps proving itself as an all around MUST have in the medicine cabinet. What you may not have known is just how versatile it is in not only relieving aching muscles and feet, it also helps to remove impurities in your system, re-hydrate you, soften your clothes.... the list just goes on and on.  Not only is it versatile in it's uses, it is extremely easy to find, eco-friendly and very cost effective.

You simply will not believe how easy this is to make! It literally only took me a couple of minutes and I was ready for my "relaxing aromatherapy bath". You can make a batch as big or small as you want. You can experiment with the essential oils of your choice, make several small batches with different scents. I plan on making several different batches / scents of this and making a few "spa-care" packages for my lady friends :)

Scented Bath Salts

1 1/2 Cup Espom Salt
1 Tsp Grape Seed oil (or Jojoba, olive or coconut oil all work)
10 Drops Orange Essential oil
10 Drops Lavender Essential oil
*Food coloring if you prefer to add color - I did not, but it would be a nice touch to color up some assorted tubes for gifts or to layer in a mason jar (like sand art)
Repurposed containers or jars with air tight lids for storage

Measure the salt into your mixing container.

Add your oil & essential oils. Mix with a spoon and you are done!
I chose the lavender and orange for this batch. I find it relaxing & refreshing at the same time. You can mix it up on the oils to serve the mood you are in.

Use 2 - 3 Tbs per bath ~ Now this is a change we can all live with!

peppermint and orange are invigorating, lavender is relaxing, eucalyptus is great for head colds, tea tree oil is good for the respiratory & sinuses, Rose oil is wonderful and calming, clove and lemon mixed together are both antibacterial & antifungul (as most essential oils are) it is a wonderful smell combination.
The cost to make this was about 1.00!  IMAGINE about a 10th of what it would cost you to buy it in the store (chocked full of chemicals) you are using all natural & pure ingredients, No chemicals! I use my essential oils constantly in my daily cleaning, refreshing, laundering & personal hygiene routine and the small containers last me quite a while.
